Does White Wine Remove Red Wine Stains

Does White Wine Remove Red Wine Stains?

If you’re curious to know whether or not white wine will actually remove a red wine stain, you’re in the right place!

The simple answer: White wine is not an actual cleaning agent, so it won’t remove a red wine stain entirely. Although it may look like it’s worked wonders initially, you’ll still have to clean the stain away in the end by using a proven method.

What do I mean by this?

In short, if you pour white wine onto a red wine stain, the stain itself will become more diluted, and it’ll be easier to soak up the liquids with a paper towel. If you keep adding white wine and dabbing at the stain the mark will become less prominent.

However, once you’ve done all the dabbing, and you’ve soaked up all the liquid that you can, you’ll still have a faint red wine stain. To get rid of the remaining remnants you’ll have to use an actual tried and tested stain removal method. Only then will the red wine stain be gone.

White wine may make the stain easier to remove if it’s a fairly fresh one, but it won’t be very useful for older and ingrained red wine stains.

Now you know that white wine isn’t going to remove a red wine stain completely, what alternative methods can you try? Keep on reading and I’ll share some ideas with you.
